On Friday, March 29, 3,000 people at the sold out 27th Annual Starbucks’ Hot Java Cool Jazz experienced a phenomenal performance from our Jazz 1. Jazz 1 shared the stage with Edmonds-Woodway, Garfield, Mount Si, and Roosevelt High Schools for an exhilarating evening of jazz from some of the top high school jazz bands in the Puget Sound area.
Enjoy watching Jazz 1 perform A Little Minor Booze, Trav’lin’ Light, The Sunny Side of the Street, and Clap Hands, Here Comes Charlie!
During the Hot Java Cool Jazz concert, short videos with interviews of the musicians and directors were played during set changes. This was the last one of the evening and shares a powerful message of what music provides and what is at stake if school administration decision makers choose to cut instrumental music classes. The video features students and band directors from Mountlake Terrace and Edmonds-Woodway, as well as Roosevelt, Garfield, and Mount Si.
