Raising $1.5 million by May 30 Save The Arts campaign in full swing!

The Foundation for Edmonds School District is in full fundraising mode for saving 24/25 music and arts classes. To do so, $1.5 million must be raised by May 30, per the school district’s request. Crazy, I know, but we can do it. Donate (and learn more) on the Arts Endowment Fund page

As funds are raised, here are the milestones and classes that can be saved in the 24/25 school year:

$560,000 – retains music programs at all middle and high schools
$684,000 – retains the above PLUS visual arts classes at all high schools
$1,500,000 – retains the above PLUS 5th grade band/orchestra

You see, we can’t go halfway here. We need to go all the way to $1.5 million to ensure our music and arts are kept next year.

There are many angles being worked here. Famous people, philanthropic organizations, businesses, and more are being contacted. But, we need to spread the word far and wide! It’s about everyone in our community pitching in a little to show they care. It’s about sharing with friends and family in your networks! It’s about contacting your employer to see if they can match your donation!

A Facebook Event co-hosted by a few different groups is set up. We encourage you to visit and select “Going”. This allows us to keep you up-to-date with the latest numbers, milestones, and more. Also, share the event with your Facebook network. Share, share, share. You never know who will donate a large quantity of dollars.

This is a collective community effort. We know we are all in this together! Impacts to band and orchestra at the elementary and middle schools WILL negatively impact our music program! We can not let that happen!

When sharing, use the hashtag #fesdsavethearts to demonstrate your support!
