Welcome to the 25-26 School Year! Last Thursday we finished our 5th and final 2025 Sea Notes at the Marina! In total, we had 28 musicians from five schools participate in our five jazz jam sessions. Ales for the Arts! Mountlake Terrace Jazz is supporting the Edmonds School District Foundation’s fundraising efforts to save middle and high school jazz music classes next year! Our Jazz 1 and 2 are playing this Saturday, May 31, 4:00-5:30pm at Salish Sea Brewing Co. Boathouse Tavern.  Why is the Edmonds School District Foundation holding this fundraiser? The Edmonds School District developed a short-term solution for sixth grade band by eliminating general music and offering instrumentation. Mountlake Terrace Jazz Musicians Recognized at Essentially Ellington

Mountlake Terrace High School Jazz Ensemble 1 returned last week from performing at the 2025 Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Festival and Competition in New York. Three Mountlake Terrace High School jazz musicians were recognized for their musicianship at the awards ceremony held at the Metropolitan Opera House. Sophie Ionitsa, freshman, received an outstanding pianist award; Justin Ho, senior, received an outstanding guitarist award; and Bennett Harvey, senior, received an honorable mention trombonist award.
