Last Thursday was the last Mountlake Terrace High School jazz combo gig for the year. We finished 2022 with a private performance for residents at the Mountlake Terrace Plaza – Senior Center. It’s been a terrific year since the impacts to our program in 2020 and 2021.
Since April (when we started shows in the community) our jazz combos performed 24 times at various community and private events. We raised $4,350 and provided opportunities for 17 musicians to perform in 34 hours of jazz combo gigs!
These performances are essential for our musicians to practice their craft, develop their stage presence, learn how to work as a team, and build their performance capabilities. These are invaluable experiences that contribute to the growth of the musician, as well as the growth of the Mountlake Terrace High School Jazz Program.
