On March 19, jazz educator, Chad Eby, provided a workshop for Jazz 1 in support of their Essentially Ellington appearance in May. Chad offered excellent insight into improving the songs, while also ensuring that Jazz 1 played their own take on the songs.
All jazz bands selected to participate in Essentially Ellington receives a 4-hour workshop from a renowned jazz education/musician. These free workshops help musicians prepare for the competition.
